Recently sold an item, and buyer selected PayPal as payment method. She paid the total amount then indicated in her PayPal account screen, not realising that the postage amount displayed was incorrect (although the postage on the listing was correct).
This caused some inconvenience for the buyer and myself as she had to send a second payment to make up the difference. As a new buyer, she was unimpressed by her experience although I hastened to tell her that the problem was not eBid's fault.
Whose fault is it then? Is it an eBid site glitch? or a problem on the PayPal side? It would be nice to know, as this type of problem is sure to put off a lot of buyers from returning to eBid.
(Note - I did not send an invoice as the item was paid for (in part) before I received notification of the sale).

That is kind of weird, never saw anything like that happen before, PP and ebid/feebay always matched because info comes right from your listing (unless glitch happened in your listing)?

Could the buyer have bypassed ebid and sent an amount (wrong one) to PP via your email name and not the link from ebid?

Or could the setup of shipping cost in your listing not worked correctly and only the item amount showed (an error in shipping calculator?) I bought something a few months ago from the UK and the seller sent the invoice but the shipping was missing. When I emailed her, she saidyes it was, sent it again and there it was! Maybe a glitch in system?

If it is not one of those I am out of ideas!

Any problems with postage costs displayed by PooPal it is worth checking that in your PP account profile that the setting Allow transaction-based delivery settings to override profile settings is ticked.

I'ld like to know where you get off calling the number one payment processor in the world your nickname? In Canada we don't have all the payment options other countries have. I think it's disgusting and maybe people should be sued for slander. I have been a verified business member for 6+ years with no problems at all.

If it was then the poster has two problems.

The first is that they do not know the difference between libel and slander - I can help with that.
