Default Can't see my listings in search

So I've just come over from that other Auction site, this looks good to me I thought signed up and put three listings up several hours ago

But I cant find them when I search.

They are not adult listings just clothes and Spark Plugs

Even putting there exact title into search brings up "No auctions with this name" etc

Is it me or a glitch

PS This is the first time I have logged on to these boards and the message at the top says " welcome you last visited 1 January 1970 " What I was only Nine years old then ?

    Thanks in advance

    Steve

This is standard when you start log out and log in again and it will go away and show the last time you were on

Great It's going to be a bit of a learning curve

Perhaps when you are logged in you can't see your own listings?

Anyway if you can see them then hopefully the world can see them

    Thanks for your time

    Steve

You may be having a problem with using the ampersand in the title.

If you search for M&S Purple Top Sz 18 your item is not returned.

If you search for M S Purple Top Sz 18 your item is returned.

eBid's search engine can be a bit precious. It doesn't like some things such a obliques and hyphens in certain places. Looks like the ampersand can be added to the list.

The only consolation is that the current search engine is supposed to be being retired when the site revamp takes place. Though you can still report it to admin as a glitch is you wish. They might fix it.

Have passed it to admin. Not sure if this particular 'oddity' has been raised before.

It affects me personally as I have several M&S items listed.

Avoid punctuation and symbols. I had "U.S." in some of my titles and the search didn't find any of them (even with "U.S." in the search box). Then I changed them all to "US" in the title (no periods), now they all come up. I think basically the search ignores everything except letters and numbers.
