Since cars are female and since it is rude to ask the age of a female once she reaches a certain age, I'm not telling how old my car is.

I loved that lady, what a great spirit! I hope I get like her when I reach that age, If I do... As for my car, getting close to 6 years old. I truly doubt it will last 42 years though. They don't make them that strong these days...

In German cars are, if any gender, male. Hence: der wagen.

Actually cars are machines and I have never understood why people give them names and refer to them as female. Mine is just 'it'.
