You might laugh, but it's a flaming good car.
A lot of the private taxi drivers around here use Skodas. I doubt they would use them if they were unreliable as they depend on them for their living.

I'm not as into cars as I was when younger but have heard good things about Skoda since Volkswagen sorted them out.

Everything else about it though was immaculate. I had had it from new so it was a real wrench sending it to meet its afterlife.

Oddly (or not) those things that did give me problems during its life were those fancy addons that you maybe use a couple of times during a cars life and cost a comparative fortune to replace.

I brought a dealership (customers and staff) to hysterics once with my pained cry of HOW MUCH??? on being told the price when I went for a new glass for the heated wing mirror
That's one good thing about the old classics......so easy to work on!! plus they hold their price....if you look after them of course.

Classic car owners are a great bunch of people, always willing to help each other.

The other weekend I had my stall at the Triumph Sports Six Clubs yearly event at Staffordshire county show ground (Bingley hall) What I enjoy most is talking to the other Triumph owners, and of course selling plenty of my products!

Yeah, used to do everything at one time down to stripping gearboxes. Took one look under the bonnet of my new car and realised it was time to store my toolbox at the very back of the shed as I wouldn't be needing it any more.

Our car is 2 months old and a Mitsubishi.

Hubby doesn't like it much as it has too many gadgets and it is all governed by an on-board computer.
He wants to go back to a simple car that just drives not an all singing all dancing one .

I love the simplicity of the old classics. A 2006 Toyota is ( of course ) not 'simple'.
I can't wait until the Tata Nano hits the market here......
