Yeah good idea - with the added bonus that other 2cv drivers wave at you as you pass each other - I bet Mitsubishi drivers don't do that! I don't think I'd recognise one of those if it jumped up and bit me... although come to think of it my mother inherited a Mitsubishi sewing machine (non-electric) from her mother!!

The one thing that sticks in my mind concerning the 2CV, is that I can remember touring around France in 1966 and if I saw one 2CV burnt-out at the side of the road, I must have seen two dozen or more!

I think they are a bit more upto date nowadays.......they now have modern smoke alarms fitted.

What you saw were rehearsals for the 1968 Paris uprising!!

Nowadays there are no up to date 2CVs - Citroen stopped making them in 1991.

Strangely enough though a 2CV has indicators (even those much older than mine) when most modern cars in France appear to have not been fitted with them at all!!

My chevy pickup is 6 years old. Vehicles usually are a bad investment. Some are worth more money as they get older but very few. The car dealers loved me when I was younger. Had to have a new one every year. After putting in over 3 million miles driving for a living I do not even like to drive much anymore. Going from point A to point B on a nice scenic drive is still fine. After a little while I get very bored with driving. Probally why I like computers. Keeps the brain working learning stuff. I'll never learn it all in one life time.

In fact the Bedford CF as a marque celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. You could even buy a sticker to show your appreciation of British engineering.

It's also the 50th anniversary of the Triumph Herald this year.

What was your very first car? Mine was the little old Moggy 1000 reg' 930 GNN. then MK1 Cortina 470 VVO.....then Corsair DRE 860E.....then MK1 Triumph 2000 FOX 55D. They all bring back some great memories. Nice summer holidays when the kids were little, and it used to be a pleasure to drive on the open road.....AND PETROL WAS ABOUT 4 BOB A GALLON!!!

My first car was a Honda Z600

    Loved it~

Tinest little thing, and we travelled miles together.

All up and down the country to dog shows.

The first car I ever wanted was a Triumph TR3. While staying at my uncle's as a child I found a car catalogue in his garage and my first interest in cars was sparked. I loved the look of the Triumph and decided that was the car I was going to have when I grew up. Never happened though. My first car turned out to be an Opel Kaddett 1.2 SR Coupe which I bought while in Germany - though I had to come back to the UK to collect it as Opel didn't supply RHD variants in Germany itself.
