Have you ever wondered what the USA would be like if us Brits hadn't decided to leave you to it in 1783?

I mean .... for instance.... Now you all drive on the WRONG side of the road!!!


I would love to hear anyone elses ideas on this.particularly from our North American cousins.... In a purely light-hearted way of course.....

I am not sure....
I think it's because the Vin de Plonk last night had lasting effects and my finger is typing by "The Force"

Maybe some Canadian provinces and northern colonies like Vermont (If it WAS Vermont then, not Maine, or vice versa....I need to read history) would have eventually become some sort of union rather than how it turned out being Canada and "the United States". Maybe southern areas like Florida and Louisiana would have stayed Spanish and French territories respectively. Maybe Cuba would have been in a union with Florida, Puerto Rico and others and become a different administrative colony.

I really can't imagine almost all of North America being one huge area of English possession: what is now Canada plus the United States.

Maybe the German settlers in Pennsylvania and Maryland would have founded their own new nation too.

Sorry this is not humorous but i think it's interesting to imagine.
