Google Base question(s)

Hi everyone
Having just started listing on eBid again (2009 is a year I would prefer to forget) I'm obviously trying to get my listings to appear on page 1 of Google.

I've just typed in Cut Glass Rose which gives me 1,440,000 results. Now, in Google products I get 946 results for the same term.

My question is can anyone explain the term 'Relevance' which is the automatic result search on Google products? Another reason for asking is that the 1st 3 listings under the term relevance are the same listings that would appear under Shopping results for .... in a Google search.

I've always took 'Relevance' to mean that if you enter Cut Glass Rose as the search term then it starts off looking for results that exactly match that term, then looks for close matches, then lesser matches, and so on.

So the first results should be more relevant to what you actually typed in than those that come later.

I was on the same wavelength as you but now I'm not so sure. Maybe Google have changed what 'relevance' means to most people. I guess I'll just have to carry on researching it until I find out the answer.
