Default Call of Duty - Modern Warfare 2 (slight spoilers)

Just started playing this game on the PS3.

Very nice visuals, very polished looking game... but half of the time I don't know what I'm supposed to be doing! I was also a bit annoyed at the old 'infinite enemies' thing, whereby on certain stages if I stay in one place then enemies will just keep on coming ad infinitum, which just isn't very realistic.
The story confused the hell out of me too, one minute I was in Afghanistan, the next in some frozen wasteland (missed where it was, might have been Kazakhstan), and then for some reason I was killing civilians in a shopping centre and got killed myself at the end of it.. huh?? Anyway it all felt rather disjointed.

Online multiplayer is OK but the player matching doesn't seem to work very well as I was playing with people who were a lot better than me and two or three others on my team, needless to say my team lost every match and we died probably twice as much as they did. Hmm. Practice makes perfect I suppose, it just would've been nice to be playing with other people who'd only just started too instead of established players.

Good game, probably one for the more seasoned deathmatch player and army nut than the casual player like me, but I'll certainly stick with it.

I've had enough. Having completed the game on Recruit difficulty I started again on Regular, but now I've reached very difficult points in the game on both Special Ops and Story mode which I've played again and again to the point where all the fun has gone. The increase in difficulty seems disproportionate, I dread to think how difficult it is on Veteran!

Looks like Fallout 3 GOTY Edition is next up.
