No. The trap is made of steel and sinks anyway.

It also has a mooring rope
so that it is tethered in position.

If I caught my foot in the loop all that would happen is that the pot would be hanging in mid air and my fishermen friends would be laughing their socks off.

That's coming along! Looks much better than the first version. It still seems like an unlikely item to sell - a wee bit too Blue Peter home-made - but a very acceptable DIY for own use job. If you see what I mean!? Well done!

Did you catch any lobsters with v. 1?
If not, was anybody else in the same area catching any?
Do you still have v.1 in your possession?
