My sister used them, they got loads of money for all the gold they collected, but for a pair of earings, not sure if you will get much

No I would never use one of those especially when I saw the test the BBC had done with £300 scrap value of gold, the most they were offered was around £120 but 1 firm offered just £63

    Hmm, now Im confused

Not expecting much. Earrings cost £50 but they are very light although large hoops.

Perhaps Id be better off taking them to a jewellers

Just thought may as well get something for them whilst gold prices were up.

I think your best bet is the jewellers or why not list them

I think most reputable jewellers will happily value items. So try a couple and see how their valuations compare. If the items(s) only have scrap value they will tell you that.

I wouldn't use any of the bandwagon gold buyers that advertise on TV of late. I doubt very much you will get the real worth. They rely on the seller not knowing the value of what they send in.

Interesting. They initially offer you one price they hope you will accept. If you don't they offer you more. That would tell me straight away they were trying to rip me off in the first place and likely still are with the second offer.
