Cant blame him for sending it back, they are a load of rubbish. We didnt know anything about these bikes until it was to late. The reviews on this starway we have read are very bad.Wish i could turn back the clock. I have it up for sale as spares or repairs .Might come in handy as spares as i cant see anyone wanting to get this heap of junk back on the road, lol.

I don't know how old you all are butI wonder if any of you remember the old Raleigh Runabouts?.I had one and the only way I knew if the engine was going or not was that pedalling got a bit easier!.My mate had a Phillips Gadabout (what a daft name) it had a huge screen on the front and he reckoned with a head wind it went backwards.
Both of these are now worth a few quid as collectors items,we used to throw them away when they went wrong.
    Happy days!

I seem to recall they made one called the "Wisp" I think Raleigh made their own engines, there were quite a fe small motorbikes and mopeds as well as things like the "Winged Wheel" and various clip on engines, now its Chinese mopeds that seem to have taken their place..

PMSL @ Phillips Gadabout .never heard of these, lol. I will have to do an internet search just to see what it looks like. Raleigh rings a bell though but had to look that up as well, loked more like a pedal bike, lol. From what i read, Raleigh had a villers engine.I might be wrong , it could of been the wisp. How about this for a memory, i use to have a Puch MS50 D moped when i was 16, lol.

There are some pictures of the early Raleigh and Phillips mopeds here http://motorbike-search-engine.co.uk/classic_bikes/phillips-classic-mopeds.php .The 50s and 60s seemed the years their popularity peaked, there's a mention on the pages of the Mobylette,I remember them well.

The Raleigh Runabouts were Mobylettes made under licence and were very reliable, the Wisp was effectively a beefed-up RSW cycle with a motor added and was very unreliable. At about that time I had an NSU Quickly moped, which was far superior to the French and British competition, but the name lost something in translation!
