Red face Confirm Buy Now Addition?

This is really embarrassing.... I have never bid on EBid so was curious how the buying worked. I tried a Buy Now on one of my auctions but for obvious reasons, couldn't.

So I searched for an item and clicked on the "Buy Now" button, thinking it would take me to page where I would CONFIRM or choose my Payment Option or CANCEL. Whoops! No such thing and I had to contact the seller to cancel. Truly embarrassing and I am so sorry!!

So... my suggestion is that there be some page that after you hit that "Buy Now" button, asking if you really want this item. Or would you like to cancel and go back.

(Perhaps this is why some sellers get sales but no final sale.. People like me click on a button thinking they will confirm... or change their mind with no way to cancel/go back....or just curious, like me who is still feeling stupid!)

Maybe eBid could simply add verbiage to the effect of "Click here if you are ready to buy" etc., rather than require another full screen to load.

I admit "Click here if you are ready to buy" is repetitious with "Buy It Now". There comes a point when you have to credit people with SOME sense. No insult intended. It's late and I might not be communicating clearly.

I think you have made a very good point And no you should not feel stupid .... we all have been there at one point ourselves. I think your seller would be understanding as well - I know myself your error has helped me now and answered that curiosity.

A click to confirm page would be nice so I too would vote for one please

    Hi!

No insult taken, believe me! And I know it's a bit redundant to have a "confirm" page... But maybe something below the "Buy It Now" that if clicked, you are committed to buying and there is no turning back. It's yours, baby!

Now I just had a go using the BIN. Click on the button and up pops this:
    eBid Alert
    >> You are about to use BuyNow to purchase this item at £0.99 . Press OK to continue or Cancel to go back.

I can't see that anything else is needed.

    Cool

    Really???

I did on the US site a few hours ago and there was no warning message, went right to Pay via PayPal, etc... I don't dare "test" it again.... LOL!

Perhaps someone will purchase something for real and post their result?

If you want to try on one of my listings, I won't hold you to it

Well, I'll try it on one of your items and see what happens.

I tried it on one of Meebo's items and got the same thing as Meebo, an ebid alert with a choice to cancel.

Julie, I tried to reach your stores via your signature links and it didn't take me there. You might want to check your links.

I also tried a BIN on one of your items to see if there was a problem with the US site, but again I got the option to cancel before proceeding. Perhaps it was just a glitch yesterday.
