    Default private message a user?

    cant seem to find this option. is it available?

    Nope. Your viewers can contact you, using Q&A, but that goes via the public listing. You can't contact viewers. Once a sale is made you get each other's email addresses, but until that happens there's no mechanism.

    Not true any more.
    Now users are signed up to both the forum and the auction site in one go, a PM sent via the forum to the user's username should get there.

    From the FORUM:

    USERCP (toward top of page)
    SEND NEW MESSAGE (from the Private Messages section on the left hand menu)
    Fill in the details on the page.

    This is dependent on the user permitting the receipt of PMs in their settings. I believe it is set to RECEIVE PMs by default.

    Aha, ta. I don't feel that's a secure, reliable course, but the bit about being included by default is interesting, thanks. I don't think non-forum users are going to get any mileage out of the PM system as it's so much a part of the forum, and so separate from the selling side. But worth a try if one's desperate!

    That's good. At least the person receiving the PM gets an email to say it is there. So that will help those new members who don't know to look on the listing for the answer to a question.
