    Ive been on 2 cruises.

One went to Scandinavia - Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Oslo, Visby.
Sailing up the fjords to Oslo is amazing.

The other went south - La Rochelle, Vigo, Lisbon and Madeira.

Both were superb, although I dont think I am allowed back in Madeira.

Not been on one personally but my niece was a dancer on the SAGA cruise ships.

SAGA may suit if you are of the age where you can quite happily manage without younger generations (particularly kids) getting in your way. Plus they are geared to the over 50's

I'd love to go on a cruise, especially a carribean cruise.
I'm also scared of heights, and until you mentioned it, i'd never thought about the height of the ship. I know one thing though, i'd never be able to look over the edge of the railing thingies.

As a young man I worked as a steward on a liner. I often think I should go on one to see what its like as a passenger.
My posts only state my own opinions, unless I've stolen them from someone else

It's not a thing I fancy at all. I've done a lot of sailing, and seen the cruise ships moored off places we could get a yacht into and never wanted to swap. Even when we the water desalinator stopped working properly and we didn't need to season the food.

There are some theme cruises, mystery, knitting, whale watching, etc, to take your mind off being so high up and in the water. My mom went on one to Alaska and had a great time, whale watching etc.

Maybe best to start for only a few days. I think hers was 3-4 days which was just right for a first timer.
