Default I am very shocked :(

A seller had an auction up of these clinique samples. The bid price was 99p and they had a quantity of 10 up for sale. So I placed a bid on the whole quantity. Each lot of 10 was for 99p (if I was the only bidder) and £1.20 postage.

I emailed the seller a polite message asking for the total & if she combined postage.

    Her reply was this

"WHAT YOU WON IS 20 X1.5ML CLINIQUE.ARE YOU MAD THINKING YOU GETTING 10 X 20 X 1.5ML CLINIQUE.YOU MUST BE SMOKING ROCKS TO THINK THAT. SO 99P AND 1.20P FOR 20 X1.5ML SAMPLES.IN WHICH YOUR GETTING A BARGAIN COZ YOU PROB SMASH THEM OUT AT 50P EACH"

I have never ever received any rude message like this before on ebay. And I have dealt with hundreds if not thousands of transactions. This one transaction on ebid is seriously putting me off.

If the seller didn't want to sell them for 99p then why the hell would she start them at 99? She has 0 feedback on here too.

Any advice on what I should do?

Do I report her to ebid? Or should I just leave a negative and walk off and leave it at that? Because it is obvious she doesn't want to sell them for that price.

I would keep very calm and report her to admin with the auction number and a copy of the message you received.
Me thinks she will not be here very long.
Do not let one transaction put you off there are some lovely sellers and buyers on here.
    Good luck

So sorry you've had this horrible experience here. I'm afraid every site has its share of idiots - you've just been unlucky this time.

Leave negative feedback, abandon the purchase, and send copies of all emails outside the system to support@ebid.net along with a brief history and the item number and seller's ID - I'm sure they'll deal promptly with such rudeness.

Rest assured there *are* good sellers here, and don't let this one put you off.

Thanks very much for your replies. It's good to know not everyone is like that.

I would never dream of talking to anyone like that, let alone my own customers.

It's just typical for me that one of my 1st transactions on a new site is such an unlucky one as this. But heres hoping they are all good from now on

Without seeing the actual listing it sounds like the seller made the mistake of running a Dutch Auction expecting the selling price to be bid up above 99p. When that did not happen they sold for less than they were actually happy to sell them for.

No excuse for the rudeness though - the mistake would be theirs and they should live with it, chalk it down to experience, and accept it with good grace.
