I make wrappers from recycled cardboard boxes. Wrap in bubble wrap, cut a cardboard square the size of the LP plus wrap, then cut another piece (with flaps on all four sides), fold over, tape well with strapping tape. Write "Fragile" on both sides. Minimum weight, very secure, and they've all arrived undamaged. I do charge $1.00 handling for the time it takes to make the wrapper. I started doing this because the commercial boxes made for LPs are VERY expensive.

    Hi Paul,

All of my packaging is recycled. I have several businesses that are happy to give me the packing materials. They are happy about saving the landfills and they are overjoyed that they don't have to pay to dispose of it!!!

Is there a company near you that would carry a product that would have the right size boxes that you need? Furniture stores are great for getting bubble wrap and gift stores are great for getting packing peanuts.

I use 625 Micron custom mailers with two 12" x 12" corrugated cardboard stiffeners. Packaging this way costs me 32p per order though I buy in bulk. You can get them here

This company also sells on feebay but their prices are cheaper if you buy from them direct. There are really only three companies in the UK specialising in record / CD mailers and music accessories (that I know of anyway) and SW are the cheapest, though there's not an awful lot in it. The others are Tramiki and CLIMACZUK

NB if you use these mailers always tape them closed, the self-seal is not up to much and can open up in the post. Some say to remove the record from the sleeve to avoid split seams but I don't do it personally and have never had any complaints.

We don't have a huge number of LPs to sell and we don't have space to store 100 mailing packages. For the size of the order we would place, the lowest cost I've found would be over $2.50 each, including the shipping charge. They may cost more here, too, I've seen other items that cost more in the U.S. than in other countries. But, if I buy from other countries, the shipping costs brings the total up to about the same amount.

Make that four... Covers33, I was using them long before the internet came along, and they're still going strong. They sell mailers, plus all sorts of sundries like record sleeves.I always found them to be fast and efficient.

    Hi
I am new to ebid but have been trading for some time on other sites ((cough))
I am moving a lot of my stuff over here because of ...you've guessed it....ridiculous fees.
Just to say that I have used the supplier doublehappinessrecords gave a link to and have never had a problem.
They are also competitive on price.
One mailer, 2 stiffeners, take the vinyl out of the inner and you can't go wrong.
    Good luck

Co-rrect! You're not as daft as you look! No, seriously, that is excellent advice.
