Default Shipping to China - anyone??

    Hi

One of my regular customers lives in China, I have always sent to a UK shipping agent so they can forward the goods on to him.

He has niw asked if I will ship direct to him in China, if I am to send I will do it as 2 parcels under 2kg each with International Signed for delivery and with full price of £400 on customs forms.

I am hesitating about China and not sure why..

Has anyone had deals with China, any problems I should be aware of?/

    Thanks
    Irene

Use parcel2go, much cheaper I would imagine, but take out the extra insurance.

RM international signed for only gives you £41 insurance so not much use on £400

also don't forget that you get 5% discount for being an eBid user, just enter ebid in the discount box

    Thanks Sarah,

I have worked it out & cheaper to send with Royal mail in 2 parcels as added insurance with RM is only £2.50 per parcel as opposed to £17 with couriers.

It's the shipping to China I am hesitating about...

Ive never had any problems shipping to China - had a run of order in the couple of months prior to the Olympics in 2008.

Mainly small orders, and one wholesale order to a retailers hotel room.

I've never shipped to China, but have never heard anything negative about it.

Thanks Mags, thought you might have done.

How did you ship the wholesale and can you remember the value of goods?

I've just looked up the international signed for service and learnt something new thanks to this thread. I never knew you could get enhanced compensation for a small fee.
This is not up to date (RM's fault not mine) but may help others http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/c...00035#21300223
