I was told that after the vat rate rise vat which was not previously charged will now be on RM postal services hence vat at 20% means a 20% rise in postage costs to anyone not vat registered

Seems like this is worth its own thread, having checked it on the RM site. So I've posted here.

I did once use Parcel to Go and had a problem in that I stayed in all day and the collection never happened it was a Friday so then I had problems getting a collection until the following Tuesday. I decided that this was too long to make my customers wait so cancelled the delivery and then requested my money back. I had paid in advance when I booked the delivery which was about 2 days before it was due. After long correspondance and time spent on the phone I finally got my money back 10 days after the delivery date meaning that they had my money for nearly 2 weeks. Parcel to go offered no explanation for the failed collection and even went as far to say that If booked for the next available day and the collection did not happen they would offer no compensation. the whole thing left a very bad taste in my mouth. I know that things happen but the attitude I was met with apalled me for such a big company their customer service department was extremely bad. I am sure that there are many people that have good experiences of the company but from my own aspect I would never use them again

I blame the junk mail! If it didn't all have to go through the system and then get delivered wouldn't that save a bundle?

Actually, I've read more than once that junk mail subsidizes the rest of the USPS system. Mailers deliver them to the post office in bulk, with prepaid postage that doesn't require cancelling, they can be handled by machines (which is much cheaper than the manual one-item-at-a-time processing that normal mail requires), and they generate a lot of profit for USPS.

Good one. I know it would save me a bundle of time and energy going through it.

Note: USPS Priority Mail rates have officially been raised, just found out this evening when I went to print out a shipping label, ugh and double ugh! Thank goodness for eBid's bulk editor.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

I've used Parcel2go.A couple of times I had problems but most of the timer they were OK. There was a thread on here some time ago where they actually posted some replies.
I've had just as many problems with parcel force, service in this country is pretty second rate on lots of things and is only going to get worse.
In terms of customer relations a lot of people could do well to copy Ebid, who I have found to be quick and effective dealing with problems and queroies.
