Default auto parts, moving from ebay to ebid. Lots of part and so many more coming

Ive been selling on ebay for over 10 years. Its been good, but they have gotten greedy. It seems like now no matter how much or little I sell there is a monthly fee of over 100$ due. Im fed up with it. Sure I may sell a bit less or maybe not, but Im heading here for good. derrickanddawn is our seller name both here and there, but the ebay store is closing today.

Welcome to eBid. I moved here about a month ago and I am extremely happy here. Everyone is very kind. The discussion board is not full of angry complaining people. Bring everyone you know here. I am sending emails to all the buyers I have sold to and to all the sellers I have bought from.

There are plenty of yank motors running around in the UK it might be worth offering parts for them with UK postage prices.
I'd like to see more cars and parts on ERbid especially the older English classics,as it is,there is a very poor selection.

Hi I am the Sales Manager for a large motorcyle parts manufacturer and in our business we feel the same way about things as you do, Derrick and Dawn. So much so that I am looking to migrate our shop over from Ebay, perhaps running the two in tandem for a while. My staff have already started the preparatory work on this and we hope to open a shop within 4-6 weeks time and get some listings going. We accept that we may sell less on here - but our plan would be to supplement the listings with some adverts in the Motorcycle press to direct people to our shop on here (and hopefully there will be some residual benefit to other sellers too from the extra traffic). Our business too is at it's wits end with the other site - not only from a "fees" perspective, but also with the dictatorial attitude which means that buyers can do as they will, even if that means that we lose money as sellers, as if we attempt to do anything to redress the balance we have the whole DSR and Negative Feedback threat hanging over us. It's good to see some other specialist sellers on here, and I wish you well with your venture. Our business is really looking forward to seeing how this goes!

    Welcome
Look at this as more of a long term thing than an easy or instant fix and you'll be OK.I still list the odd thing on ebay but mainly slanted in a way to direct people here or to my own web site.I got fed up with ebays attitude as well as fees and ebids customer service is excellent.
My advice (although some may not agree) is to avoid run till sold, use buy it now and keep altering descriptions and titles to make your listings look 'fresh'.
You'll find the people on this forum a refreshing change from what you're used to,even when they disagree it's on a friendly and constructive level and help if you get in a muddle is quick and easy to find.
    Best of luck.
