Thread: stopping unsolicited mail

  1. #1

    Default stopping unsolicited mail

Anyone know if there is a way of stopping unsolicited marketing mail? A company has my details from somewhere and keeps trying to contact about reclaiming PPI charges (never paid any, never contacted this company). I have blocked them from emailing me and texting me but not sure what to do about the post. I know I could just bin it but it annoys me even receiving it when they shouldn't have my details. I don't want to contact them and Royal Mail won't be able to do anything as the mail is addressed to me. Any ideas?

And, for phone calls, though it can't stop the ones from outside UK,

the latter makes a huge difference to many people. We kept moving house so I couldn't tell but my husband's aunt said it was amazingly effective.

Put their letter (including envelope) in another envelope.

Address it to them - do not put a stamp on it.

    Mark the envelope ''cheque enclosed''.

    Post it.

Thanks. Does the MPS apply if the mail is addressed directly to you, or it is just for circular/occupier mailing? This company has got my details from somewhere and is sending me information as if I have contacted them to request it. I think it's probably in the hope that I'll contact them and they'll be able to talk me into using their services!

Nice idea, but don't even want to waste an envelope on them!

MPS should stop named mail as well. In the case of this particular company, email them and ask them to take you off their list. It really is worth the effort in most cases. If they start to email you, just block that address!

Open it and see if it contains a postage paid envelope. A lot of them do. If it does, put their stuff and any other junk mail you can find in it and send it back to them. Won't take long for them to get the message.

Good idea. It's a claim pack so probably will be an envelope in there. May add a note asking that they remove my details, as I don't why they even have them in the first place.

Nice to see someone else does this as well.I sometimes bundle old newspapers up and stick the envelope on as a label.Saves filling up the dustbin.
