    Default Non Paying buyers

Is it common to sell items and the buyer never pays for it, this has now happened to me 3 times now and as a new Ebid seller am not at all impressed. What can I do about this, surely the buyer automatically enters into a contract once he/she hits the buy now button? I have gone to the after auction part of the sold page and reported items not paid for, does ebid follow this up or am I simply wasting my time. As a previous feebay seller (no more thankfully) there were at least stringent procedures to go through for non paying buyers and black marks to be dished out. Anyone tell me my next move as am starting to give up even bothering to list now due to the lack of buyers and then those buyers not even paying. Many thanks......

I have been with ebid for over a year and not one non-paying buyer.

That's a shame its happened to you.

I think the best thing to do is send them a AAL message.
Then if you get no reply you can report them to support.

Sometimes newbie buyers don't relaise what they are clicking on

You have been very unlucky. Do hope it won't put you off.

There is a procedure you need to follow in order to have your fvfs refunded:-

Send three reminders through AAL - at least 24 hours apart. If you do not then receive payment, you leave negative feedback and then contact Support.
Don't worry about retaliatory feedback. If it is seen to be such, Support will remove it for you.l

Newbies or not - if someone doesnt know what ''placebid'' or ''buy now''' means, then maybe they should be sent back to school.

Might not have put it quite like that but I do agree with you. There really is not excuse for npbs - newbies, or not.

Sorry you had this experience. I agree with the above, also with Julie, only one bad experience here and many more elsewhere, and eBid support quickly took care of the problem. The nice thing about eBid is that the site protects its honest members, buyers and sellers.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

I have NPBs every month. Sad thing, but true. I allow 10 days for payment and usually by the 5th day I send a reminder, then another reminder on the 7th day (two reminders are all that is needed). If I still have no payment or reply from the buyer after the 10th day, I mark them as a NPB, leave appropriate feedback, email support and request the FVF refunded and give them the item number. Usually, in a very short amount of time, I receive a reply from eBid stating the FVF has been refunded. I relist, put the NPBs ID in my blackball list and move on.

    Hi Banrigh,
Yes, you are right, it is two 'official' reminders. I usually send a'gentle' one first

One npb per month is dreadful

I have only had two or three non-payers on ebid, and LOADS on the other side.

Well, I guess I have been lucky. In almost seven years of selling on the bay and here, I can only remember two or three.

The majority of my sellers here have been newbies. Not a bit of trouble. Most of them have paid instantly.
