Postcodes are allocated for blocks of dwellings, not entire roads. For example, one block of flats is likely to have a different postcode to both neighbouring properties.
But what about houses that have different postcodes but next door to each other?
House Number 86 ends in 2AP
House Number 87 ends in 2DD
House Number 88 ends in 2AP
House Number 89 ends in 2DD

I though you sometimes worked for the Post Office in the sorting office? Didn't they explain to you how post codes worked?

Our postie is a little gem.Knows Where and with who to leave things when you are out.But a friend of ours had a postie that used to put things through letter boxes at random.Turned out he could speak English but not read it.Sigh.
