    Default Payment Options

    Hi,

Can anyone help me please? I am new to all this as being with another on line auction and thinking they are a rip off....anyway do you have to accept paypal as a payment option? I have signed up to pppay.com and google checkout.Would this be ok?

    Many thanks

    Hi

No you dont need to use pay pal here you are not obliged to use it as you are on feebay. Others will say that you sell more offering it but I am not sure about that, but I would recommend googlecheckout its fairly easy to set up and most of my customers are happy to pay by that method. There is a lot of help on how to set up the various methods of payment on the forums if you need it.

You can accept whatever payment method you are comfortable with.

hi, yes, you can use any (and all) forms of payment option that you prefer. A lot of people are comfortable with Paypal, but that doesnt stop you using other ones.

Surely, offering the most payment options would give you more chances of sales.

agreed totally. Personally I like to pay by Paypal (and as a seller I like being paid that way too) as its immediate and has a measure of security. I also accept postal orders, and cheques, if people want to use those instead, but I personally dont pay with those myself. The rare time I have a big item that is collection only, then I will accept cash at the door when the item is picked up as well. But we all have our preferences, and other people may well have different ones - so, the more payment methods that you can offer, the more potential sales you will get.
