starting auction for specific buyer

I have a buyer who wants an item. I would like to set up an auction specifically for them. Is there any way I can do this. Basically I want to advertise on gumtree etc, to gain some interest in sales. You can't post a link for an auction site on Gumtree, but if they contact me through email I would like to give them the option of buying through ebid to give them some some of confidence that it is a legit sale, and also to gain some extra positive feedback. So is there a way of setting up private autions for a specific person, or should I post this in website suggestions.

When I have done an auction for a specific user I have simply called it Auction for (name) and then the rest of the auction as normal.

When I've done this I've always made sure that my buyer was 'online', emailed them the auction listing number, they clicked on over to eBid for the auction....done deal........neat and sweet. Works every time for me...good luck to ya!

A seller did this for me once & I simply did bin when it was available. This could have backfired I guess, but no one else tried to bid/buy.

I have not has this happen on eBid, but on a different site, I'd list something like that with the auction title:

Special order item for member "joe smith" ONLY

and then a note in big red letters at the top of the description; then describe as normal. I have never had anyone other than the intended recipient purchase such an item.
