    Default Mutual agreement cancellation....

    ...

Both my Seller & myself have mutually agreed to cancel.

Do we now have to proceed via Blackballing or do we contact eBid support, please ?

Thank You Bill. I think so too but I'll wait a little while in case anyone comes up with anything different.

If the listing hasn't finished yet Blackball her then cancel the bids and then unblackball her, if the listing is finished you will need to contact support to get your final value back...........I think

There's nothing your seller can do to cancel a purchase after you've bought. If you both choose to ignore it, that's it. If your seller wants his/her fees back, s/he'll have to mark you a non-paying buyer. Hence: http://www.ebid.net/forums/showthrea...L-ORDER-option

Thank you bykimbo. It seems strange and NOT RIGHT not to be able to put a formal end to our agreement.
Ignoring a legal contract is not good, IMO.

I've had a few where the buyer has bought in error - usually they've been new members to the site and they've somehow pressed the wrong buttons or it could be that they've just been 'playing' to see how the site works. Anyhow, whatever the reason, at least they did explain that they wanted to cancel. Because they were new members to the site and I didn't want to 'scare' them away by harsh procedures - I've just made a mutual agreement with the buyer (pretty much the same as you and yoru seller have done. But, in my case, I've just 'lost' the fvf in the process, and re-listed the item. I've marked the item as paid, with the wording 'sale cancelled by mutual agreement' (or something similar), and left positive feedback for the buyer. Something along the lines of 'good comms, nice person to deal with' - cos even though the sale was cancelled, I did had to proceed with a transaction of sorts. I didn't bother troubling support for the fvf, as in my case the fvf's have always been less than 10p.

Whether you and your seller proceed down that road and complete the transaction but no money changes hands and no item is sent / received probably will depend on what the fvf is, and if your seller is prepared to 'loose' it. You could perhaps suggest the above to your seller, and offer to mail her / him some stamps to cover the fvf.

Good luck with what you decide to do.

Agree with the above. I like the way BabsnRay handled this, IMHO very thoughtful and professional.

BTW: LIke the new avatar, too cute!

Best wishes for many sales to all,

Thank you everyone. FVF will only be 1p if that. It was a new eBidder who, as it turns out, made a mistake in the listings - I am trying to help the person as they are thinking of leaving eBid as so upset & confused. He/she is very honourable & was prepared to complete even at a loss if necessary.
I will let them know we don't need to do anything. I doubt they will mark me as a non-paying bidder. I hope not as that would really upset me.
