Just joined!!

Hey,
I have just joined eBid and thought I would say Hi.
I am about to start a selling campaign, sent my money to my supplier in Korea today, and had presumed to sell on Ebay. However, got an email yesterday about their increased seller charges and thought 'No Way!', so I looked for an alternative and here I am. Ebay's latest charges are a killer for me - 10% of selling price + insertion fees kind of takes a lot off the profit margin!!
I think I will start an chain email campaign - 'Don't Ebay, eBid!!'. I will send it to all my contacts, and ask them to pass it on. Spreading the word is a must - I hadn't heard of eBid before today, so I imagine most other people are the same.
I'm really optimistic that I have found a great product, that is currently unavailable in the UK, but, unfortunately is for a specialised market. I will have to push my auctions on various forums etc, but hopefully, it will all work out!
Now I am off for a look see round the current auctions......

Welcome aboard! Be sure to visit the "Kitchen Table" forum. Ask questions and get ideas. Ebid is just a bit different from the bay and takes some getting used to. Good Luck!

Plug thread to advertise (See rules, once per 24 hours, delete old thread before starting new). Choose Avatar & Signature (for folks to remember you by). A link to your auctions is a good idea. Run Until Sold items stay at back of viewing list - 7 - 10 days on auto repost increases visibility on a cycle basis.
Virtual drinks, music & bacon butties in Sellers Cellar occasionally.
eBid monthly Charity Auction YDC (Your Donation Counts) 24th - 28th each month - a great way to join in, get started, raise feedback & have fun and all to raise money for good causes. This months is YDC 89 if you want to put it in search box.

Seems like there is a certain 'togetherness' here, and a much more helpful attitude. The bay seems to be everyone fighting each other for sales and listing placements etc.

Welcome to ebid!

It may pay to add a picture and a bit about you in your About Me page, and some details about what you sell, and your shipping and returns policies. Most people like to see who they are buying from.

And don't forget that if you make your listings BINs with auto-relist for 7 or 10 days, they will work their way up the browsing list and get seem more often.

I am working my way around the site slowly!
I don't expect to have my stock until next week, so I have plenty of preparation time - descriptions, photos etc etc
