Default Rules on the sale of samurai swords?

Hi, on eBid, can someone help me with whether or not you are allowed to sell samurai swords to buyers?

If so, i am sure i need proof of id before i ship off the goods?

I just wondered if they came under some rule that they are a weapon and cannot be dealt? i do not know.

I know there was a rule that a sword cannot be sold over 100cm, i was guttered when i had an anceint samurai sword 103cm long!

You can't even sell a penknife, so I doubt a sword would be acceptable.

I am certain that under UK Law the sale of blades of any size can not be sold, this I assume also applies to swords on eBid.

Thanks for your input, i saw this here on a UK law site:
    Illegal Goods
Samurai and other curved Swords - On April 6th 2008 a law came into effect banning samurai and other curved swords with a blade length of 50cm or more, there are some exceptions for registered martial artists, re-enactors and even certain genuine Japanese swords.

An amendment to this act was passed, which came into effect on the 1st of August 2008, which allows curved and samurai swords which are handmade using traditional forging/production methods to be sold without a license which you will see on the site and can buy and own without a license.

This is from an authorized uk seller of swords, the 2nd part interests me, i wonder if a handmade sword would be eligible for sale?
