Thread: Computer driving me barmy :(

  1. #1

Default Computer driving me barmy :(

Could someone offer a solution please...

When I click to check a box, it takes about six clicks of the mouse before the tick will stay in the box.

Also, I can't cut and paste. I can only highlight one or two words at a time instead of a block of text.

Plus, I can't upload pictures - I click on it and it disappears.

This has only happened over the last two days - it was fine before. Problem exists on IE and Firefox so can't be the browser.

    Hellllllp!!!!

I'd do a virus and spyware check 1st.

Then disc clean up - defrag - registry clean and if necessary restore to last known good configuration.

    Good luck!

I use AVG Tune Up once a week so discs have been cleaned and defragged etc.

How do I run spyware please?

I use avast anti virus (it's free to download) and that has it's own anti spyware.

If I download that, will I have to take off AVG?

    I would!

Some peeps consider AVG a virus in itself!

    Avast is much better!
Install avast delete AVG and then run a full system check with avast.

Sounds like a mouse problem to me. Have you checked the batteries?
Do you have mouse software installed? ie not just the windows automatic installer. If so try re-installing it

    Hello Gyronny

I did wonder if it was the mouse and then forgot about it. I will put in new batteries. I do wish these things would indicate a low battery!

Will try that before downloading anything.
