having now read the thread from begining to end i would point that for average user who is not very PC literate the instructions need to be much simpler, and more importantly ebid should be writing to every person who has an ebid store telling them of the issue and explaining exactly what needs to be done

the question was asked what is the name required and i cannot see a clear answer from ebid, so what is the answer ebid?

Next question, what is the registered website URL?

i worked out from the thread where to find the GSID and if understand correctly because the email address to be given to google would result in a response going to ebid the only way to know that google shopping have given an exemption for the shop is by going back to the same place where one obtained the GSID to see next to the GSID the wording exempted. is this correct ebid?

the answers are somewhere in the thread rather than in one post from ebid written in plain english.

ebid should be giving specific instructions to follow, not relying on members to follow the thread to find the answers.

While not being expected to read all the forums, anyone seriously using the site (which would include all sellers) should, at least, keep abreast of the eBid News forum.

There is a link to just that forum at the top-right of any eBid page.

Earlier in this tread i asked a question re Unbranded clothing.

Some of my clothing is unbranded, and so i put 'Unbranded' in the field where it said to put brand name.
Please could you let me know if that is ok, as i have just edited a couple hundred items in my clothing store, and i need to know if i have or haven't wasted my time
I have just had a look on google shopping for a few of my bits that are in my clothing store, and none of them came up in the google shopping search, but did come up in ordinary search.

So how will i know if my clothing store is going to be uploaded to shopping or not???? will we be notified if there is a problem or not??????????????

I haven't done my other stores yet as i don't want to waste my time until i know i'm doing it right.

I just left the field empty if there was no brand information available. Stuff has uploaded OK to GP.

As long as you have obtained an exemption for the store then you should be fine.

Likely the new dictate is still in shakedown phase, and even Google don't know what the final rules will be.

I only did it that way because that's what ebay told us we must do now.

Gazza's post at #65 of this thread would indicate that there is not an issue if some items in an exempted store do have full barcode/brand details. Simply that if a store has one or more items without, then an exemption is needed for the store to prevent problems.

I split my store into two when this was first announced, with one just for items that had no barcode/brand information. It now appears that this may have not been necessary, and I could have just exempted my one store. When the dust settles I may merge them back to a single store.

I just want someone to clarify whether putting 'unbranded ' where your meant to put the brand name in is ok.

That 'someone' would have to be eBid admin or Google themselves.
