Without the google shopping element we are pretty much lost.

Sadly you are right, as for Ebid support ..took then a good 24hrs to get back to me. From what I can gather this has caused alot of issue for a lot of people and one huge headache for Ebid support to try and sort... I feel for them i really do as im sure they are aware of its importance in Ebids future. :/

Finally received an email from Google Shopping:

"Thank you for your email requesting an exemption for unique product
identifiers. I've reviewed your account and see that there are no items or
active data feeds uploaded into your account.

Please reply to this email once you've uploaded items in your account and
we'll be happy to review your products for exemption."

What a mess.

Meanwhile my shop goes unviewed.

the following Meccano part was uploaded to one of my eBid shops about 22 hours ago and is showing up in UK Google Shopping.

We've made a few tweeks to the uploading process today. We had a bit of a catch 22 situation going on, Google asking us not to upload items that do not comply with their policies, yet doing this means that items that need to be reviewed for exemption are not uploaded for them to check.

If you have applied for exemption and not yet been granted then keep an eye out for your items appearing on Google Shopping in the next 48hrs and once they do then re-apply for exemption using the same method as before.

I can let you know that any mixed stores with books with isbn and books without isbn are not being granted exemption. You will require separate eBid Stores. Same goes for music stores with CDs with barcodes and LPs without it seems.

I've been asking my family and acquaintances, and NONE of them had ever heard of Google Shopping or Google Product Search. They all knew of several search engines, though, and a couple of them said Google is becoming harder and harder to use, and not finding as many sites that are actually what they want. They all rattled off the names of other search engines that they've started using. Is this another case of a good company getting too big for its britches?

It certainly sounds like it. Wouldn't be surprised if Ebay have shares in the company and trying to dictate what should and shouldn't be allowed.

This may sound dumb but, are y'all saying that if we don't do as Google says, no one will see our items we have up for "auction" or "buy now". Is there no other way for people to find our products. I am seller + but, maybe I should give Etsy another try.

Just tried searching for some of my vintage jools on Google shopping (where they used to be in the recent past) but tonight not a one. I'm not going to get worked up about it, though it is odd - there aren't any ISBNs for jools, not that I'm aware of anyhow...
