She really isn't. Look at the post again. It's polite, friendly and enquiring. That's not complaining in my book!

I do agree it's *better* to do one's homework before starting, but doing a sample list and seeing how it goes is a reasonable way to go, especially if followed up with questions about what one is doing wrong.

I say "welcome aboard" and good luck. Where else would a post like this get advice directly from the site owner? (OP - that's Gazza, in case you didn't realise).

But she should do well on ebid, as I don't think we have that many sellers in her line.
Well its a double edged sword... when looking for somewhere new to sell and seeing it promoted as the No 1 alternative to ebay people do expect it to be as big as and like ebay so its a fair assumption that when selling something that isnt already on here that people would be clamouring for it.

True she has only 5 listings on here but elsewhere she does sell a variety of items from perfume to home and garden goods, office items, musical items etc so with over a 1000 listing thats a decent size. Not necessarily huge big but biggish.I know some people have lots of time on their hands to list all day but if as she says she has other places that are doing well then her time will be divided and she may even have a family to care for aswell.

I didnt actually see the OP as complaining more in the line of questioning ...when i first listed on ebay yes I did have sales the first day but over there its easy to find newly listed items .

However I do have a different underlying line of concern.

And I do think she has been harshly cirtisised and maybe put off from even listing anymore ..time will tell...if she does and her buyers follow then its will be very good for ebid.

I think everyone comes to a site like ebid with the idea of trying it to see if it works.
Then if it does they will list more.
There is no point in listing 1000 items on day one if they are not gong to sell.
But then listing 5 items and expecting them to sell on a small site is asking a bit too much.
Maybe a compromise in the middle ?

I think the OP got a lot of good advice. Lets hope they respond.
