She really isn't. Look at the post again. It's polite, friendly and enquiring. That's not complaining in my book!
I do agree it's *better* to do one's homework before starting, but doing a sample list and seeing how it goes is a reasonable way to go, especially if followed up with questions about what one is doing wrong.
I say "welcome aboard" and good luck. Where else would a post like this get advice directly from the site owner? (OP - that's Gazza, in case you didn't realise).
