My kids have won £50 each but I have £100 worth somewhere and have never checked them.

Are we notified if we win?

I would have thought so if your details have remained unchanged since they were bought. It's easy enough to check using the link I put in.

I have had 16 since 1974 and have won £25, so I got my money back and fingers crossed.

Not really. You have the £25 - plus you still have the £16. Though £16 now may not be worth what it was in 1974.

I got £100 worth of bonds in 2006 and won £100 within 2 months... nothing since then but I've already had good value out of them I guess

Premium Bonds are generally claimed to be a poor investment. The place to put money when you have run out of other places.

The more you put in the more chances you have to win - though a person with one bond has the same chances as someone with 30,000. Those with more have higher odds of winning though.

Despite supposedly being a poor investment, my bonds are giving a better return than my 'proper' investments (which have been in negative territory since 2001), and paying more than high yield (there's a laugh) accounts.
