thru the plug forum to see if anything took my fancy for last minute gifts.

Couldnt believe the number of posters that have several threads running in there.
I was under the impression that all sellers were only allowed one live thread at a time,
and if they made a new post, the previous one(s) should be deleted?
Or has this changed recently and I missed it?

Hi Mags , as far as I know , that was and still is the rule...but there is always someone who thinks the rule does not apply to them..............papa.

Even though I see Gazza in the Forums quite a bit I don't think he pulls threads or plugs unless they get reported by someone.
Which makes sense as I'm sure they have better things to do then keep a constant eye on the forum. The only thing I see wrong with that is as soon as a Thread/Post is reported it gets pulled regardless if it's breaking rules or not but it is what it is.

Like all rules...if they are not enforced you may as well not have them. All that happens is that those who do abide by them, without being pushed, get annoyed when they see others get away with flouting them.

I shouldnt think Gazza had enough time to go through all threads, so if reported would make life easier for him.

Unfortunately yes I agree, think it was last month someone didnt like a thread of mine & it got pulled.

To be fair a lot of these offenders do abide by the 1 post per day rule on a single thread.
Other threads they have running are probably lost or abandoned.

I don't see this as a problem.

I for one cannot say hand on heart that I may have more than one.

At any rate I haven't used the plug threads for awhile now.

I agree, I've never understood why having old threads lurking in the depths was a problem. As long as one only makes one post per day, the rest is a pointless bit of petty bureaucracy to my mind. I do try to remember to bin old threads, but don't lose sleep over any possible failure in this area.

OH dont get me wrong - I couldnt give two hoots about it really.

Just cant see the point in having a rule for it if it just gonna be ignored.

MIght as well do away with the rule altogether.

I think the one post per person per day part is useful, the rest is nonsense. I've not seen - though am willing to read one - a single explanation of what removing old threads brings to the party.
