I am no expert as I have just started myself, but I would suggest pinning 3 or 4 things at a time. Be sure and give a nice description, not this is for sale type thing. When you get more followers your items will be repinned, and it will return to the feed or whatever you call it. When you repin someone or even just like someone be sure to comment also, that way your image shows up on that repinned item. Just few things I have learned.
I am noticing more attention to the items I have repinned and actually had a question from a buyer yesterday and today. So spread your pins out, be sure to repin and comment. Also they send you a message when someone is following you. Be sure to always click that follow back and when you get in that person's boards, just click follow. It will take time, but this is a good site. I am hazeleyes767 if you want, take a look at my pins and you will get an idea of commenting.
Good luck to all and glad to see you trying this, I think it will benefit ebid as well as us sellers.
Anyone who wants an invite can email me at dancingrandma@att.net and I will be happy to send you an invite.

Morning all, I spotted this thread a while back but chose not to follow it up at the time because I have been busy trying other social networks. I went through the various links and articles just now and I am wondering what is everyone's view/impression of the site now? It seems to be more of a US site at the moment or am I ill informed?

According to available statistics you are right - more members from the USA than anywhere else and this would seem to be the case to me when browsing - as I said above I have only found a few French "pinners" but the UK is doing quite well. A number of Australian craft blogs now have Pinterest badges but Juliebabe had obviously not heard of it in New Zealand.
Allegedly Pinterest is supposed to appeal more to women than men too - but I haven't found any figures about how big the difference is statistically. There are certainly men there...
My son-in-law explains social media sites, such as Pinterest, like this:

Pinterest put me on a waiting list.
Rev Dr Bill Hopkinson,
Retired professor
BillsStamps
around 50000 stamps listed, based in London
Well, all could stimulate discussion and networking - even if only to ask why he doesn't spell it doughnut?? Or maybe that's too long for twitter?
The waiting list thing is the reason we have all been offering to invite you via our existing accounts - to save time! You have a choice of eBidders to approach...
