Very weird situation

Sold an autograph to someone on the other side. They claim the envelope arrived empty and nothing in it and are demanding insta-refund.
Then sometime between when I went to bed and this morning, the auto, with the sticker on with my return address on the protective bag its in, plus some random DVD that I dont know anything about, were shoved through my door in a Tesco carrier bag.

What the hell am I supposed to think of this? The sellers address isnt in the area, I took the auto to the post office myself to send off, I have asked them if they can shed any light on this... I certainly cant.

Maybe the envelope received by the buyer was from someone else.

I wonder if someone has stolen some mail and dumped unwanted items somewhere; then some kind sole has found them and your address and returned them to you. Certainly worth telling your Post Office.

I am at a loss as how you can explain this to your buyer!!!

Tell them what happened, in your best Ripley's fashion, offer them a refund or the autograph (signed for delivery pd by you) and see if the next thing that gets mysteriously delivered to you is a winning lotto ticket!!

In good news, the buyer has agreed to a re-send of the auto

Wow, that is weird, reminds me of a purchase I made some months ago, the bracelet was mailed to me but never arrived, though someone signed for it, according to the P.O.. I wrote it off as lost and didn't think any more of it, then, some weeks later, when I opened my door one evening to feed the kitties, there was the package with the bracelet inside it lying on my porch. I still don't know what happened to this day, but it affirms my belief that most people are basically honest.

Glad things worked out with your buyer, hope the goblins stay away from the package this time.

re: the initial post - the autograph was returned to her through her door, along with other items...........so she can resend it to the buyer, who didn't receive it originally.
