Hey thanks meeb (on her behalf) But, yes you're right!
Either that, or they have a "camera for dummies"
You know the type - one that any idiot can use

Now I'm off to go & hide somewhere

Why didn't I think of sil - that's her name from here on in - "Sil
    "

    Hi all,

Well Bro & Sil are into their 2nd day in Hyderabad (minus WiFi connections) but this quote extracted from their email may explain the current hotel situation.

"A truly vile hotel, worth visiting if only to have an experience of unsurpassable vileness".

    Another extract:

    Locales visited today included:-

    Charminar - a structure built in 1591 to commemorate the founding of Hyderabad;

Chowmahalla Palace - number of buildings originally constructed for the ruling Nizams of Hyderabad in 1750 but then added to over the next 100 years. A prime example of how people with no special skills or virtues are given (or who have stolen) all of the power and 99% of the money of a part of the World. They then, over very lengthy periods, squander both and their memories stagger on courtesy of tourists like us.

Laad Bazaar - Oddly enough, a Bazaar where you can buy stuff you probably don't need. This one specializes in pearls which we neither need nor want.

Buddha Statue in a lake in town (Hussain Sagar) - another disappointment despite it being 17.5 metres high and weighing 350m tonnes.

Perhaps photos will bring these sites to life but at the moment the photos are on a SD Card in my pocket and I have no way to upload them on this PC run by the Hotel.

    Next stop Chennai ASAP

PS. I did manage to lift this pic from their blog

    QUOTE=Oldandintheway;1416659]G'day all

Well they're off again! This time to Mumbai India & points south & via Changi Singapore
    [/QUOTE]

I hope that you have time to enjoy Singapore before Mumbai.

I love the food in South India, I eat nothing but vegetarian because it is so good, and I never get Delhi belly,

We are still drinking the tea we bought from a plantation ( 1Kg) and are so glad we bought so much.

If you get the chance to go on a boat in Kerala for a couple of days, I would be so envious!

Hi all, our traveller's are in the process of moving to Chennai & hoping for better WiFi access.
Have visited the Golconda Fort & a few other sites in & around Hyderabad.
I'm told that lots of eBid cap type shots are imminent, so keep an eye out for these shortly.

One major disappointment for Bro, was the fact he couldn't get a place on the Royal Enfield factory tour as it was fully booked - bummer

Here's one undergoing rigorous factory testing

Howdy all, Bro & Sil have made it to Chennai - but these are the Hyderabad & surrounds pix.
I'll split them into two posts. 1st. The Charminar area & 2nd. Chowmahalla Palace area.

    Charminar:

#1 Charminar street scene - taxi's are no problem
#2 Palace entry sign. (Bro's caption = As with pretty much every sign we have seen, this one has been comprehensively ignored!)
#3 And just to prove it
    #4 Sil & a local inhabitant.
#5 From Palace balcony to main town gate.
    #6 The said gate

    Chowmahalla Palace - Hyderabad:

    #1 Could use some paint.
    #2 Chandelier anyone?
#3 Full time job lighting candles available.
    #4 And polishing floors.
#5 Bro about to take up "The" position.
#6 While Sil wonders if it will fit in her cabin luggage
#7 Some Palace weaponry. (Bro would prefer an AK47, given a choice)
