    Colonel Bailey's Dungeon & Gumbaz:
Both Tippu Sultan & the Colonel kept their enemies here, chained to the walls.
Gumbaz mausoleum - the final resting place of Tippu Sultan, family & ancestors.

    #1 Dungeon plaque.
#2 Not what I expected a dungeon to look like.
#3 But just try & get out!
    #4 Gumbaz plaque
#5 Mausoleum proper & Mosque next door.
    #6 Inside looking out.
#7 Like the black marble columns?

    #9 After that - a cool drink.

    Mysore Zoo:
This dates from the late 1800's and houses a large variety of birds and animals. The walk through it covers 2.8 ks. We saw elephants, tigers, jaguars, hippo's, giraffes, eclectus parrots, toucans, sulphur crested cockatoos and many others, including one lonely Wallaby.

    #1 Zoo entrance.
    #2 Macaw.
    #3 More Macaw.

    #7 Lowlands gorilla.
#8 Chimp (in background) takes a rest, while monkey doesn't.
    #9 Asian Elephant.
    #10 Tapir.

Hi all, well our intrepid tourists have spent their last day in Mysore & today are heading for Ooty.
A five hour bus ride away over winding roads.
Ooty is surrounded by national parks, at least one of which, is a Tiger reserve.
The last day was a quiet one & our eBid gear apparently was in the wash?

#1 Last Mysore evening meal - something called Thali - at least no plates need to be washed.
#2 New hotel mural installed late last night with loud hammer drills. Yuk & Yuk!
#3 View from hotel lobby to the mezzanine. (Why are horses running on the branches? Don't know)
#4 Now off to the movies. (Guess who found a 2005 Royal Enfield outside.)
#5 And a lesser mode of transport. (lots of these around apparently) "Born to be wild"
#6 Local sweets bakery. (where many visits were made)
#7 Movie theatre just 2 minutes walk from hotel. (planet Bollywood)
#8 After the flick, with friendly staff.
#9 The love story seen. (I can't imagine how much romance could take place under such confined conditions?)

Wow, just amazing! Your sister in law should be a professional travel photographer. Still can't get over the amazing detail in the carvings, what talent! Makes me wish we had a few artists of that caliber around nowadays.

Your bro is still the hottest dude in an eBid cap.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

Last photo's from Mysore - Maharajaha's Palace by night. (reportedly 100K lights) Note: see previous posts for palace by day.

Views #1 to #7 - The Palace on free entry night. Yeah
Thankfully, whoever took the last pic - didn't run off into the night with the camera
