Thread: Cocktails!!! and Music

What's been going on here - I live 7 miles south of highway marker 386 and this occurred at mile marker 342, so 44 miles west of me. It's almost 8 minutes long, they are saying today - no fatalities and just heard you can go east to Cheyenne now but $700 fine if you try to go west.

    WOW what a mess - that's madness!
Will take a little while to clear eh?
Amazing what speed & snow & ice can do!
    Hope everybody made it.

Update on our little drama here -

Efforts to reopen I-80 between Cheyenne and Laramie are continuing, but crews are facing an uphill battle against continuing heavy, wet snow and wind and the cleanup from yesterday’s chain reaction crashes.
An additional 6 inches to 11 inches of snow are forecast for the area today and tomorrow, and the highway could remain closed until sometime tomorrow.
Two of the tractor-trailer rigs involved in the crashes were split in half and spilled their cargo onto the highway. Efforts are still underway to remove that cargo and the truck wreckage.
During the crash investigation and cleanup, crews have been unable to plow the highway section, and the heavy, wet snow that has built up is now too heavy for plows to push off the highway.
A rotary plow will be required to clear some of the snow. Six plows from the Casper area are on their way to help in reopening the highway and trucks from Pine Bluffs have moved west to assist in the effort.
A fuel truck dispatched from Cheyenne to help keep all the equipment running has been delayed because a private vehicle that ran the road closure gate on WYO 210 is stuck on the highway and blocking the truck’s passage.

Yikes, Wyo, what a mess! Hope it's all sorted soon.

Still soggy here, but the sun is trying to peek out around the clouds. Have my fingers crossed the landlord's son comes to mow today as promised, the grass isn't bad, but the weeds are getting out of control. If it weren't for W., I'd blast the whole thing with weed killer and be done with it, but considering he likes to lay around the yard that's not happening any time soon.

Trish and Graham, hope you're both feeling much better and Trish hope your eyes are back to 110% soon. Here's a little test:

Well, the lawn is now mowed so I can breathe a bit easier, (no lawn Nazis coming to take me away). Come to think of it, that would be a cool song title, maybe something like Weird Al would do.

    Cheers and beers,

Tony, I don't know, I do hope she's doing well. Probably busy with family stuff, at least I hope so. Trish, stop in and give us a shout to let us know you're OK, we miss you.

Weather is scaring me, we have a tornado watch til 11 tonight and it's only 5:45, don't know how I'll get through the next few hours. Stuff like this makes me want to hide under the covers with my old teddy bear, no teddy anymore, though, so Winston will have to do. I miss NY where all we had to worry about was snow and ice...

    Cheers,
