Wyo, it's usually bad luck to see a single Magpie, and if you do see one it's tradition to salute him and say "Good Day, Sir" ! lol!
    Here's the rhyme ....
    One for sorrow,
    Two for joy,
    Three for a girl,
    Four for a boy,
    Five for silver,
    Six for gold,
Seven for a secret, never to be told.
    Eight for a wish,

Ten for a bird, you must not miss.

    Great stuff PosBaloo!
    Oh, those earworms are relentless!

Just made some Hollyberry scented tealights to add a Christmassy scent to the home, they smell sooo gorgeous!

    Good news!
JR went down to the auction today to get our Turkey (he doesn't work Mondays).
He was intent on getting a fresh Norfolk Black like he did last year - complete with feathers, head, neck, innards etc.
Unfortunately for him, but fortunately for me, it was also his works Christmas dinner (lunch really).
So he went to the auction, registered, then went for his Christmas meal.
When he returned to the auction to bid for a turkey - they were completely sold out, tables were empty!
You should have seen his face when he got back home ... talk about Bulldog licking thistle (google last 3 words) ...lol!

Cutting a long story short, he went out and bought a turkey and a duck - I have had to freeze the duck as there is no more room left in the fridge.
So glad that the turkey hasn't got a grassy anus and isn't wearing it's feathers, neck and head.
Also glad that I haven't had to pack JR's suitcase..... as I did threaten to throw him out if he bought another feathered bird here.
    Could be a peaceful Christmas!

    Good afternoon

It's cold and gloomy here now, weather's not that good either, LOL!

Not long to go now for the big day.
It will be a quiet day at home for me, no Christmas dinner out, but I do aim to cook myself a veritable feast accompanied by a lovely Cotes du Rhone Villages red wine.
I have had a parcel from my friend in Germany, loads of chocolates, a stollen loaf and a 2.2kg Holstein Bauernmettwurst
I have lost a stone in weight but will more likeley put it back on!
I think I will have to work very hard on my exercise machine on boxing day.

A song from the city of my birth..

    Aperetif anyone?

Have great evening/day/morning wherever you are
    Graham
