Thread: Cocktails!!! and Music

Morning all from a slightly snowy Kent, so far not settling in our bit but it's coming down a bit heavy at the moment... Snow's the only problem with living where we live, we're at the bottom of a hill in a small village and we quite often get cut off when it snows bad, even had helicopter drops of supplies in the past...

Seeing BNT's post earlier about classical intros to songs, here's a live video I found a few years back of Procol Harum performing Whiter Shade Of Pale - it's pretty good..

I absolutely LOVED your choice Mandart, I have saved it in my favourites.

Well, despite the swirling snow blizzards and freezing temps, we made it to the vaccination centre. We were really lucky as they were closing the doors at 12.00 noon, due to the inclement weather. There weren't many folk there, so not long to wait. So far, neither of us feel any side effects. We had the AstraZeneca vaccine. Have to wait 9 weeks until we get the second dose.

Off now to put the beef joint in to roast for dinner tonight, we both feel the need for a good ole traditional Sunday roast with yorkshire puds .... and of course a wee dram of whatever tickles our fancy ..lol!!

You're lucky. We had our vaccine a fortnight ago but we have no idea when we get the second dose.

Tony, when we booked our appointments online, we were given the choice of when and where to get our jabs. You had to select a date and time for both 1st and 2nd doses. This was with https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/corona...s-vaccination/

Sadly that didn't happen with my dear lady, she was told they'd book jab 2 when she had the first but at the centre she was told they'd be in touch with her when she was to have her second.

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, it doesn't apply to us as we never received a letter and therefore cannot book online. We were phoned by our GP practice and went to a surgery for the innoculation.

Nice to see a few folks in the Bar already today, must be something to do with the weather either that or we all need a drink!

Just come in from clearing my drive of snow, it's stopped at the moment but we are promised more later.

My shift pattern at work gives me two days of today and tomorrow so it's like having an extra weekend

Mael, I loved the Wolftones and Capercaille tunes. When we had our shop we stocked Capercaille albums and sold a few, we had a fairly good group of customers who liked folk of all kinds and because I'm a big folkie myself stuff was played a fair bit.

Glad to hear that many of you are getting their jabs, I'm still waiting to hear about mine, shouldn't be too long now.

I'll leave a few tunes for people to listen to.
