sad loss, to say the band was only put together for the TV series with only one real musician to start with, they became very accomplished musicians and did eventually play as well as sing on their later hits.

I remember well all the girls at school thought Davey was hot and his picture was all over the magazines in the late sixties.

Very sad news and too young... I saw him in a play at the theatre once and he was very good. He made acting look very easy in The Monkees - just looked like four lads messing about (that in itself was skilfull) but he could do serious acting too. The Monkees - essential viewing in my day!
