I imported mines, but I have more from eBid than the Bay. I admire those who have all from eBid. But it really boils down to personal choice. When people apply for a job, a wise boss is going to want to see a resume, and perhaps a background check. Both of these relate to past performance. I consider all feedback and work experience important.

Rarely have I heard that..."only performance going forward is what we are looking for." I recently heard a university say they no longer required a GRE (Graduate Record Exam) for admission; and they found students were performing quite well. That's all good and well, but it left me feeling a bit uneasy with them.

I have not yet made a decision to LEAVE eBay, but did want to get started on eBid. I found the feature/process for importing feedback, but being the cautious sort, decided to check eBay's (ever-infuriating) policy pages. Here's a direct quote: (you will not) "take any action that may undermine the feedback or ratings systems (such as displaying, importing or exporting feedback information off of the sites or using it for purposes unrelated to eBay);"

So, somebody tell me if importing my eBay feedback is going to result in my suspension from eBay?

They would lose far too many sellers were that threat carried out!

I think ALL eBid sellers should start from a level playing field and see no need to import feedback.

    Just my very personal opinion

I'm with you Tom and though I've moved here, I don't like to burn bridges and if eBay ever get's the (bleep) together, I'd like to sell both places. In any case I have imported my feedback and still have my eBay account, no problem.

The simple reality is eBay is not going to be trolling the eBid forums to hunt you down and close your account

I agree with that. If you have good eBid feedback then 'regular' ebidders will know the considerable effort made to build up that reputation. Alas, we will now never know if someones feedback is eBay or eBid or both unless it is proudly displayed on a huge banner somewhere.

    For what it's worth....
