Talking New to eBid - Any Tips Welcome!

    Hi,
I thought I would introduce myself as I am relatively new to eBid, registered as a seller+, since the beginning of the month. I have been selling quality ex chainstore clothing and accessories and also guitars (another hobby of mine!) for a number of years on eBay very successfully. Unfortunately I am yet to make a sale here despite the quality of items and the really good value for money I believe I offer.

I would be grateful for any tips and advice as to where I might be going wrong.

Your help is much appreciated - I really don't want to have to go back to eBay!!

    Many thanks

    Amanda

Nice items, nice pics, good prices..........on the items I looked at, any way!! Spend some time looking at different threads in the forums.....they are FULL of tips and advice. Spend some time advertising here on the forums....you can do 1 plug every 24 hours on the PLUG thread. (If you start a new thread, you have to delete the old one). Use twitter, FB, etc. ) I'm sure you will get more suggestions....but do cruise the threads, as many tips are given in multiple places. Did you click the help button top right of any page and read the FAQ's? Also good info. Good luck
    Ta-Ta for now!

    Hi and welcome to eBid.

Some suggestions, if you haven't already tried them:

    1) Add a signature link to your posts, so members can click to view your listings.
    2) List as many items as you can; it's free to list and relist and the more items you list, the more potential sales.
    3) Use 7-10 day auctions with auto repost to ensure your items move up searches.
    4) Let former customers from other sites know you're selling here.
    5) Use social networking (Twitter, Facebook, peronal blog) to promote your listings.
    6) Use Plug Your Auctions on the forum (1x per 24 hours - delete old post before starting new one) to promote your listings.
    7) Offer international shipping whenever possible to widen your potential customer base.
    8) Tell everyone you know and meet about eBid.
    9) Buy a few inexpensive items to increase your feedback and support the site.
    10) Get involved in eBid activities, as the monthly YDC charity auctions, if you're so inclined; it's a great way to raise monies for good causes and it helps raise your profile in the eBid community.
    11) Check out the Help videos and read Astral's FAQs page, lots of good info. in both places.

    Oh and have fun.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

I just wish I was a bit thinner - you have lots of lovely clothes for very reasonable prices. I wish you all the best in selling here on eBid.
My hint is: - the more you list, the more chance you have of selling.

Thank you for all your sound words of advice - much appreciated!. I will be listing some more items and hopefully things will pick up. I do have items to sell from size 6 upto size 28 to list so I may have a better chance if I put a broader size choice on. I was just testing the water with some odd items.

I will also attempt to get involved with the forums ( something that is a bit new to me) and hopefully that will help.

    Thanks once again.
