I am in favour of a bid columns as ebdi is an auction site.

But I wonder did many of those against it, ever gives any reasons for being against it ?
(aside for them thinking it may put people off ebid if they don't see any bids)

My items will never suit auctions.
But I personally think that bids should be shown.

Do you mean that all your listings are fixed price ones? If so, you have no auctions.
