Why doesn't Ebid invent an app to compete with it's rivals?.

It may be that many people do not use mobiles to shop online, but some do, others may browse while on the bus, or if my former students are anything to go by as soon as the tutors back is turned. If an app will get a few more sales and a few more visits it will be worth it. It will also give sellers more opportunites, I for one would like to be able to check when I get to my wholesaler. Some stuff sales infrequently, but sells and is worth stocking, but I only buy and list the single item, last week I sold such an item while I was out at the wholesaler, could have checked they still had them nad got another instead of waiting a week or so for my next visit. The API is getting to be a must for some sellers, we are attracting them more and more, and it would be a pity if we started losing them for lack of the API.
For both the app and the API, it is also the appearance and kudos it brings to the site, they are now pretty much a 'must have', and if eBid wants to remain a serious contender they have to be keeping up with, or better still keeping ahead of the competition in either getting things like this out first or having a superior product when it is released.

Best prices on designer and branded goods in all five stores.
I agree, a mobile app is very helpful for sellers. It enables quick response to any questions while you are not in front of your computer as well as helping with checking your sales activity. I do a lot of shopping for product and use the mobile app from "E" for researching items before I buy.
My nephew lists on ebay using their mobile app on his iphone, he says it's much easier & quicker, you take the photo with your mobile, then upload everything.
Not my idea of fun, I did have a blackberry but hated it & went back to my old cheapo nokia
He's got an account here, but won't use it to list until the app is working.

Whilst I have to admit that maybe JD was right about mobile increasing.
Ebid needs two things urgently
An API
A mobile ap
I still think that most sales and listings will be made on Pc's
So if I was ebid I would do the API first.
I know they have said they are working on both.
(Its better to go for say 75% of the market than say 25%)
