    Default Audio Books

Am I alone in my love for audio books? I listen to them every day. Mostly in the hour before I go to sleep. I used to read a lot, and still do as my kindle will attest but there is just something about being read to I love. I like all genre's even ones typically seen as mens books but my all time favourite must be the Harry Potter series, or LOTR. What do you all think of audio books, do you like them? or do you prefer the written word?

Not a huge audio book fan myself, but my Dad enjoys them, especially when he's driving. Think I'm a bit of an old fashioned gal though, as I'm not much for e books either.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

Good post Penni. Actually you've got me thinking again there. I do also love audio books myself. As you say you cant beat being read aloud to, and I also enjoy reading to others too, but I really cannot remember the last time I DID listen to an audio book, what a great idea to re-kindle again! Need to get back into the habit! Thanks Penni

Ive just finished The shape of snakes by minette walters - gripping! Last weeks book was The Witness by Nora Roberts, Not an author I normally listen to but this one was great, more of a thriller than a romance

I have hundreds of audio books and listen to them every day. I'm listening to one now. I've started selling off my tape ones in YDCs since I don't use that format now, but CD and mp3 are still coming in regularly.

I have a few for sale, and frankly they sell better than "standard" books, though personally speaking I prefer standard "hard copy" books. So people certainly do like them.

My brother loves them in the car as he has to drive long distances sometimes for his job so I usually buy him 1 or 2 for xmas. I used to listen to them but got out of the habit, but now you've mentioned it Penni, will dig them out and give them an airing. The ones I have are mostly detective - Morse, Poirot, Miss Marple - and my all time favourite, Rumpole of the Bailey.

Wonder if there will be a 50 Shades of Grey audio book?
