    Sounds like a lovely dilemma to me, why not do both? That way you'll both be happy. I've been to almost every state in the U.S, plus Canada and Mexico, but my European travel is limited to London, would love to go back and see the north as well as Wales and Ireland, also France, Germany, Spain and Italy. Maybe I'll win the lottery one day...

    We are in the process of sorting our first mortgage and our first child is due in 6 weeks, we won't be travelling anyone other that London to visit my family for a while!
    But some day im sure we will get to do some of both!

    When I moved to the USA I was confused about the tipping as well. My hubby taught me, as a general rule, you double the tax amount, and that will be the tip you leave.

    Supporting sports teams

    The major thing I have noticed in the greater boston area atleast, is that people have ALOT of loyalty to their hometown sports teams. Growing up in London, it was very common to have friends who supported football teams from all over the country. especially the successful ones.
    but in Boston, everyone seems to support the 'local' teams, the Red Sox, The bruins, New England patriots.
    I'm yet to find anyone here who supports the Yankees, and am told its very un-common.

    So difference number 4 is Americans have more loyalty to sports team than us British
