    Default BIN To BUDDY

I have noticed a disturbing trend. I have had 2 new buyers from the UK join and used BIN (Buy it Now) on a high end coin. Both joined and placed BIN order on same day they joined. The first buyer did not pay for the coin. They received Buddy Point for the BIN purchase right away, but I received nothing. No Buddy Points, no payment, nothing. It appears they pulled the same thing with another seller, but that seller cancelled the transaction. I had also cancelled the transaction accidentally, and went to eBid about a refund, because the fee was almost $40. That buyer has a neg from me and a neutral from the other seller, yet they have not received a strike through for their activities. Also they still have all the Buddy Points that they earned through fraudulent activity.

Now a second new buyer from the UK bought the coin using BIN, and received Buddy Points immediately. I received nothing. Actually I have 2 buyers who have unpaid BIN purchases. I am of the opinion that BIN purchases should require immediate payment. The Bid option was available, for those not wishing to pay right away. This has never caused me concern in the past, but the coin is expensive, and it appears to me that this is deliberate. I do not plan to cancel any sales, because the seller will generally loose their seller's fee if they cancel. This means that the seller needs to follow the reminder path, leave neg, and then request the refund of fees. The buyers are getting to keep their Buddy Points from the transaction. This is not right.

I think the Bay requires immediate payment for BIN. I think eBid needs to consider moving in that direction.

    I didn't forgot.

P.S. eBid did add the fee for 2%; this does not concern me as I am going to handle this issue before the fee has to be paid. As eBid added their fee immediately, the seller should get payment immediately on a BIN.

In my eyes Buy It Now means buy it now - no pay, no play...

    Good point,
but I still think it's worth a vote.
Still it's obviously your poll and your thread.
    Sorry I spoke.

    I agree!

I also have had 1 nonpaying bidder and 1 that probably won't pay. Both are U.S. Both still have the buddy points.

The for sure nonpaying bidder has 23 negatives and neutral. The person seems to have hit a lot of us.

This is totally unacceptable. There will always be non-performing buyers and sellers, from everywhere. But a non-performing buyer or non-performing seller should not be rewarded for fraudulent activity.

Could not vote because there is no "seller can CHOOSE immediate payment required on BIN" option which would get my vote.

Immediate payment should NOT be required on ALL BIN items, I have bought using that style before and not paid immediately because for example, I will be buying more (so need combined invoice) or I am also wanting to bid on another item and I'm sure there are other legitimate reasons, we are not all non payers just because we don't pay immediately.

If you have noticed a pattern of non payment from a buyer, I would just report it and let admin handle it using the procedures already in place.

As a seller I would not want to use BIN if that means I was forcing my buyers to pay immediately Im happy if they pay within the timescale I give , its up to the seller to decide if he wants to force immediate payment on his buyers.

As a buyer on ebid I would not buy anything on run until sold that requires immediate payment, I would want an invoice from the seller first to confirm that seller has not run out of stock etc.

Your points are well taken. As I pointed out earlier in the post, it is a trend noticed. It does not involve 1 buyer. It involves an expensive item that is gaining buddy points for buyer(s) who have no intention of paying. If seller inadvertantly cancels the auction, because they are uncomfortable with leaving appropriate feedback, etc.; then it results in fraudulent buyer being rewarded and seller being punished. This is not right. Perhaps the poll responses and posts will bring about some needed changes in BIN payments.
