Thread: what size is a hot water bottle

  1. #1

Default what size is a hot water bottle

I want to knit a cover for one, but what is the size? Width and length including and excluding the top bit. Inches and cms are both ok.

Depends on what size hot water bottle your knitting it for, I have seen small hot water bottles and regular size hot water bottles

I think they come in the same sizes as pieces of string.

On a more serious note, I have 2 microwavable listed (77480395 is one) that I could measure tomorrow if you do not get an answer. PM me if you want.

    Thanks Kreative.

It's for an elderly aunt - she doesn't have a microwave, so they're no good for me. She has her bottle, but her cover is falling to pieces and she loves homemade gifts. I am hoping to knit one for her. I've got plenty of left over yarn from previous projects.

    Hi Marianne
mine is a regular size one - it measures 8 inches wide and 11 inches deep. This is just the main body of it excluding the neck.
The "shoulders" are each 2.5 inches to the start of the neck. The neck part is 2.75 inches wide and 2.5 inches high (excluding the "tab" bit with a hole in it at the back of the neck (? for hanging up somewhere lol!).
I'm sure your Aunt will love your creation.

Thank you. That's pretty similar measurements form all 3 of you. 8 x 11 + a 2 1/2 inch neck should do nicely.

I've got a couple of sleeves off of an old jumper about that size.
    22" around the arm muscle.

    I must have a cold,
