a drink problems is a far harder and nastier thing to deal with than smoking.

my partner is an alcoholic so I get the mood swings / aggression etc. - a big house and selective hearing sort most of the difficulties.

anyway this is my miracle page , we can do drinking in another - probably very very long forum. so switch the drink and depression to your own post this is my stop smoking post with day 6.5 update pending and is a bloody good one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So getting the drink problem out of Here this is todays, DAY6.5 update - and it has shocked the hell out of me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. someone asked me for a cigarette today and I happily replied " SORRYI DONT SMOKE" so today I have decided to change my status from someone trying to give up smoking to - A NON SMOKER

2. I had the best deepest snog I have had in years last night, got breakfast this morning too and a sexual partner 25 years younger than me , so non smokers have all the fun!!!!

3. Generally life seems totally different, the contant worry of where is the next packet of cigarettes coming from has gone, so today I took my ego-t and sat on an isolated beach and watched the sea, (instead od chasing around and doing jobs to pay for the next packet od cigarettes)

4. and did you know there is a "COOL" way to use an E-Cig, and luckily I have it.


the method is ,
Place your fore finger and little finger on top of the E-Cig, the other two underneath.
The Button at the bottom of the battery,
Hold and insert in the mouth a angle close to 2.45 on the clock face)

so apparently that's how to look cool with an E-Cig - I think it works as I have had 3 non smokers ask me to have a go!

apart from the crap above, life in general just seems different and better. I know I am still dependent on the nicotine ,but not the expense & smell .

The current plan is 3 Months of medium strength Menthol, then I am switching to a lower nicotine level, so I have ordered Chocolate flavour. and after 3 months of that I will drop the level again to another flavour, hopefully by then we should have full English Breakfast Flavour, or Jaffa Café or Tiramisu

Not a single drag for four months. That does not make me a non-smoker. The best I can say is: 'I haven't had a cigarette so far today'.

I went a year once and then started again. So once you have had the habit you are never safe from it.

I have decided I am anon smoker - not trying not avoiding I DONT SMOKE, the nicotine addiction will get sorted at a slower rate I think.

as I quote previously from the film Dead Again " you are either a smoker or a non smoker , decide what you are and stick to it"

my decision is MOM SMOKER and I am sticking to it - and repeating myself again - life is so different.

I stopped during 1992-93, by using meditation! It was the mind set that had to change, each morning I had a meditation the morning meditation was setting the goal to be a non smoker...the evening meditation was a review...pass or fail.. eventually there were more and more non smoking days, A house/country move, new friends & introducing myself as a "Non smoker" all helped :-)

GOOD LUCK TO ALL TRYING TO QUIT SMOKING! YOU CAN DO IT!....DON'T GIVE THE TOBACCO DRUG LORD CORPORATIONS & THE TAX MAN ANY MORE MONEY !!!
